- Racing and Drifting: A 46 thousand lira fine shall be applied to racing drivers. Furthermore, their driver’s licenses shall be suspended for two years. - Not Wearing a Seatbelt: The fine has been set at 993 TL.
- Mobile Phone Use While Driving: The current fine is 2,168 TL.
- Driving Under the Influence of Drugs: The fine for this violation has been raised to 47,842 TL.
5. Legal Process, Discount, and Right to Appeal
Legal avenues are open against every penalty applied to drivers. The right to appeal arises after the fine is officially issued.
A. Appeal Process
The appeal application must be made to the Penal Judgeship of Peace. Furthermore, the appeal period expires within 15 days. This period starts from the date of notification. The reason why the penalty is unjust must be specified in the appeal petition. The fine receipt and supplementary documents must be submitted. The payment obligation continues if the appeal is rejected.
B. Early Payment Advantage
Payment of the fine within one month is recommended. In this case, a 25% early payment discount shall be utilized. The right to discount is used within one month from the date of fine notification.
C. Relationship Between Payment and Appeal
The exercise of the right to appeal does not remove the payment obligation. Payment is made to benefit from the discount. The amount paid shall be reimbursed if the appeal is accepted. These legal processes must be carefully followed.
